December 3 (Wednesday): Miyun Park of Compassion Over Killing
7:00 p.m.
Brighton Town Hall, Downstairs Meeting Room (around back of the building, behind the library), 2300 Elmwood Ave.
A one-hour talk entitled "Helping Animals with Every Bite We Take", followed by Q & A. Miyun will share the work of her D.C. group, COK. FREE ... $Donations Accepted$ All are welcome.

November 28 (Friday): Fur Free Friday
1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Eastman Theatre, Gibbs and Main Streets, Rochester, NY
Demo at the performance of the Nutcracker Suite. All are welcome to protest fur and fur-trim. At 6 p.m. Anthony Marr of CARE will bring the "CARE-a-van" (a trailer with a 54-inch video display) to air "Raw Truth TV," with fur-industry footage.

Nathan will share the work done by Mercy for Animals, a non-profit based in Columbus, Ohio. FREE -- all are welcome.

November 3 (Monday): Talk by Bruce Friedrich of PETA

Bruce will speak on "Veganism", followed by Q&A. FREE ... All are welcome.

November 2 (Sunday): Candlelight Vigil at SMH Animal Lab
6:00 p.m.
From the parking lot just north of Al Sigl Center (South Ave & Elmwood), walk 1-mile to outside of Strong Hospital Animal Lab on Elmwood Ave. (We are "legally" to stand only on the public sidewalk)
Dr. Alka Chandna will address opposition to animal research: "Animal Experimentation: Wasted Money, Wasted Lives". This will not be "open-forum", so if you wish to share/read a speech (after Alka, after Bruce), inform Lois ASAP: macbaum@aol.com. FREE ... All are welcome. (Donations accepted)

September 1st: Labor Day Parade
Meet at 10:00 a.m.
Sibley Place (1 block east of Alexander St, opposite Prince St, off East Ave). Parade routes up East Ave, to Liberty Pole, west on Main St., ends at S. Plymouth (near Hochstein Music School)

Sponsored by Rochester Labor Council. Join ARAUNY as we support the unions of Rochester, NY, as does Abundance Co-op where we shop for vegan food.

Wear an animal costume or mask (ARA has some), wear an AR shirt of your choice, carry an AR banner, and let upstate NY know animal rights groups exist here.

Come be a voice for the animals. Join us Monday, 9/1/03, for the annual Rochester Labor Day Parade.


August 26th: City Council meeting
6:30 p.m.
City Council Chambers, 30 Church Street (corner Fitzhugh), Room #302A, Rochester NY.

Members from the Circuses Committee will be speaking to the City Council to present a city ordinance banning circuses with animals. Please come sit in on this event and show them your support. For more info, please see circuses.com and http://api4animals.org/doc.asp?ID=58.


August 24th: Pig Roast Demo: Batavia NY
Noon - ?
1st Presbyterian Church of Batavia, 300 East Main Street, Batavia NY (corner of Libery/Summit St)

Demo to protest the pig roast, leaflet educational material, and share vegan options. For more info, please see www.farmsanctuary.org.
